What is Signal Radar?

Signal Radar tracks what’s happening in Norwegian podcasts and media. We analyze growth trends, extract named entities, and identify emerging narratives.

Data Sources

• Podtoppen — Weekly podcast rankings (900+ Norwegian podcasts)
• Podcast RSS — Episode descriptions, titles, and metadata
• NB-Whisper — AI transcription of Norwegian podcast episodes
• spaCy + GLiNER — Named entity recognition (people, organizations, locations)

How It Works

1. Ingest — We collect podcast rankings, RSS feeds, and episode data
2. Transcribe — Norwegian-optimized speech-to-text (NB-Whisper)
3. Extract — Named entities and topics from transcripts and descriptions
4. Analyze — Growth detection, entity co-occurrence, narrative clustering
5. Publish — This static site, rebuilt daily with fresh data
